4 new films to go on Iran silver screen as of Wednesday

A total of four new Iranian flicks are set to screen in Iran theaters as of Wednesday with notable film ‘Blockage’ in the lineup.

The new flicks include titles such as 'Chocolate’ directed by Soheyl Movaffaq, 'Certified Copy' helmed by Bahman Goudarzi and Mohsen Gharaei's 'Blockage'.

This comes as notable Iran film ‘Blockage’ has revealed new poster in advance of public screenings in Iranian cinemas.

Gharaei’s sophomore work will be on the silver screening as of December 27 in select cinema theaters in Iran.

‘Blockage’ has split the top award for New Currents competition of 2017 Busan Film Festival which focuses on first and second features by filmmakers from Asia.

‘Blockage’ reflects the overwhelming “chaos that happens to a vicious, despicable man who works as a street vendor control officer,” a short synopsis for the flick read.

Hamed Behdad won the best actor award for the film from the 11th Celebration of Iranian Cinema Critics and Screenwriters .

Baran Kosari, Mohsen Kiaee, Nader Fallah and Alireza Kamali also star in the film.
